  • While dipping the paneer, don’t dip all pieces of paneer at once. Dip the paneer in batter one at a time.
  • After dipping the paneer into the batter, drop it into the pan one by one.
  • Make batter moderately thick so that it sticks to the paneer.

Ingredients To Coat And Fry The Paneer

  • 200 grams of paneer
  • Chili powder
  • Chaat masala
  • Garam masala
  • Oil

These are the ingredients you will need to coat and fry the paneer. Coating paneer with these masala powder brings flavor to the paneer when you take the first bit.

 Ingredients To Prepare The Batter

  • Gram flour
  • Corn flour
  • Red chili powder
  • Salt
  • Carom seeds
  • Ginger Garlic paste
  • Water

These are the ingredients that are necessary to prepare the batter. You can also substitute some of the ingredients. Instead of cornflour, you can also use rice flour. And instead of chili powder, you can use pepper powder.

Firstly, you need to coat the paneer with masala. Only when the paneer is fully coated with masala, you can dip it in the batter for another coat. After you have coated the paneer with masala and batter, you need to fry the paneer.

Step 1:

Take a knife and chop board from your kitchen cabinet. Chop the paneer into cubes and transfer it into a bowl.

Step 2:

In the bowl of paneer, add one-fourth teaspoon chili powder, half teaspoon garam masala, and half teaspoon chaat masala. Coat paneer pieces with all the masalas.

You can increase, decrease or skip using chili powder according to the taste. If you are serving paneer pakora to the kids, it’s better to skip chili power. And if you are serving it to your guest, use chili powder according to your guest’s preference.

After you have fully coated paneer with all the masala, you need to prepare batter to coat another layer on the paneer.

Instruction to prepare the batter

While preparing the batter, it should not be too thick or too thin. Too thick or too thin batter hamper the texture of the paneer pakora. The batter should have the right thickness so that it gives proper texture to the paneer pakora.

Step 3:

Take a bowl to prepare the batter. You will need medium size bowl with a big opening so that you can mix the ingredients and coat the paneer with batter.

Step 4:

In a bowl, add half a cup of gram flour, two tablespoon cornflour, one-fourth teaspoon red chili powder, two teaspoon carom seeds, one teaspoon ginger garlic paste, and salt. Give it a good mix.

Step 5:

Add water little by little. Keep mixing all the ingredients with water. Try making batter just thick enough to coat the paneer.

Step 6:

Don’t make the batter too thick, it will not stick to the paneer. And if the batter is too thin, you need to dip paneer a lot to the batter. So, consistency is required. Batter needs to be moderately thick to coat the paneer.

Step 7:

Take a non-stick pan to deep fry paneer. Pour oil into the pan, then allow it to heat on medium flame.

Step 8:

To check whether the oil is hot enough to fry, drop a little batter in it. If the batter rises up, then the oil is ready to deep fry. 

Step 9:

You can fry the panner in medium flame. Take a piece of paneer and dip it in the batter with the help of a spoon. Perfectly coat all sizes of paneer with batter.

Step 10:

 After the paneer is perfectly coated with batter, drop it in the hot oil.

Step 11:

Ensure that you don’t drop all the panner at one. Depending upon the pan size, you can increase or decrease the number of paneers. You may fry four or five pieces of paneer at once.

Step 12:

Flip the paneer if the one side is golden brown. Ensure that you fry the paneer in medium-low flame. Stir and fry paneer until all the sides turn golden brown.

Step 13:

Take paneer pakora out of the pan and put them on the kitchen tissue. Gently press the paneer with tissues to remove excess oil.

Step 14:

Follow the same step with the remaining paneer.

Paneer is ready to be served. You can serve paneer with chutney.
